Now I’m not a huge fan of writing long blog posts because stuff like this is all over the internet anyway, but a lot has happened in the last day or so.
First of all, there’s LeBron’s one hour special on announcing where he is going to sign. Unfortunately I will be in class when that announcement is being made (Journalism!) but I’ll be constantly checking ESPN during class (sorry Professor Nelson). Now this whole one hour special has definitely sparked some controversy. Some people argue that there is no way that LeBron would want to shatter the hearts of Cleveland fans on national television, while others argue that there is no way there is a one hour special if he was just going to resign.
What do I think? First of all, no one really gives a shit about what I think because I’m a silly 17-year-old, and second of all, I honestly don’t give a shit about any speculation unless it is confirmed by multiple trustworthy sources that Player X is signing with Team X.
But what is confirmed is that Wade and Bosh will be playing together in Miami. Everyone should hop on the bandwagon when there is still space. Signing Bosh has got to be one of the biggest breaks ever. The Heat threw away their future for that title run and everything is coming back together again.
Beasley is a question mark, but I think he can really grow as a player like Rajon Rondo did with the Celtics Big 3. Beasley is athletic enough to play the small forward position and I think with Jermaine O’Neal (if he stays), someone who was an All-Star will always be an All-Star. He will still have that slight competitive edge no matter how much he has declined. Chalmers is a great point guard for a team that features such star power and I really like this Heat team. If they can throw in a couple of veterans to round out the roster I expect them to be in the ECF at least.
And before I waste anymore time out of your fine summer day…
Gerald Henderson, the next Michael Jordan.
