Monday March 22nd, 2010 – Anthony Tolliver peered up at the box score. “Damn! 25 points, 12 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks? I’m going to be all over Sports Center tonight!” Yes, Anthony was feeling good tonight, and why shouldn’t he? He’s finally found a team who likes his play and he’s just had the game of his life. Oh! And he’s playing with the second best player in the league in Monta Ellis – life couldn’t be better. Then it happened – the Suns, down by 3, stole the ball and were on the break. “Stats in losing effort. Empty stats. No Sports Center. Can’t happen. No. No. No.” He was all that stood between jersey #1 and the basket. He didn’t even have a chance to cry out. Anthony Tolliver looked up one final time but alas, there was no box score, there was no basket, only Amare Stoudemire in all his bombastic glory.
See you on Sports Center, Anthony.
